James and Sarah Winslow papers, 1851, 1859, 1958.

Two letters from the Winslows, proprietors of the St. Anthony (Minn.) Winslow House, and a 1958 facsimile of one of its 1858 menus. Sarah (1851) comments on their journey to St. Paul, its growth since 1849, crops, the arrival of officials participating in the treaties of Mendota and Traverse des Sioux, and James' real estate and grist mill activities. James (1859, Winslow House letterhead), discusses his poor financial situation.
